Scriptorum 1.0.15 — The Manuscript Update

This update focuses on the most consistent feedback we have received: Scriptorum's planning tools felt strong, but the manuscript editor needed to become a more complete place to actually write and revise a novel.

A more capable manuscript editor

• Added reliable font, size, alignment, line-spacing, list, indentation, text-color, and highlighting controls.
• Added reusable paragraph styles for body text, titles, headings, quotations, and scene breaks.
• Fixed formatting actions so they apply directly to the selected text.
• Added configurable manuscript shortcuts for bold, italic, underline, and strikethrough.
• Added fixed-page and Continuous manuscript views.

Optional scene organization

Scenes are now an optional organizational layer beneath chapters. You can continue drafting complete chapters exactly as before, or divide a chapter into named, reorderable scenes. Opening a chapter with scenes presents those scenes together in Continuous view, while selecting the manuscript parent displays the complete draft from beginning to end.

Adding or removing scenes preserves the chapter's existing writing.

Improved importing and pasting

• Added manuscript importing for DOCX, RTF, Markdown, HTML, and plain-text files.
• Compatible formatting is preserved and normalized for Scriptorum.
• Improved pasted content from applications such as Word and Google Docs.
• Imported documents can become new chapters or replace the current chapter.
• Replacing a chapter automatically saves the previous version as a safety snapshot.

Revision tools

• Save named chapter snapshots at important milestones.
• Compare snapshots against the current chapter.
• Restore an earlier version without losing the draft being replaced.
• Add comments and annotations anchored to selected passages.
• Resolve, reopen, edit, and remove review notes.
• Start a tracked revision session and review individual changes.
• Accept or reject changes individually or as a group.

Language-aware spellchecking

Spellchecking now has one straightforward On/Off control. When enabled, Scriptorum detects the language you are writing locally and keeps it independent from the selected interface language. This means you can use Scriptorum's interface in one language while writing and checking a manuscript in another.

More detailed story profiles

Story items can now contain custom sections and fields rather than relying only on a single notes area. A profile layout can also be reused for new items in the same collection without copying its answers.

Relationship connections now support additional context, including categories and notes, while remaining visible from the connected profiles.

Interface and localization

All new manuscript and revision tools follow Scriptorum's appearance and interface-size settings. The complete update is localized across English, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.
