Scriptorum update

Feature

Manuscript quality-of-life updates and note-readability pass

Spellcheck and rich-text fixes in the manuscript, caret-aware scrolling, chapter-wide select all, and more readable note cards.

Good morning, everyone. It's Friday, and we have a new patch that should address a few more concerns and bring some additional convenience to your experience with Scriptorum.

Manuscript updates

  • We found a regression in manuscript behavior around spell-checking and rich-text editing. You will now see the standard spellcheck error indicators, along with right-click recommendations for the correct spelling.
  • The right-click context menu in the manuscript now also allows for on-the-fly rich-text editing.
  • Manuscript flow was a bit off when reaching the bottom of a page — a regression that forced you to scroll manually to follow your own text. This is now resolved with caret-aware scrolling, which also applies to automatic page breaks and writing flow.
  • Select all was previously isolated to a single page within a chapter. Select all now applies to every page in a chapter for quick formatting and changes, and shift-selections and cursor-drag selections now move across pages continuously. This change is title-aware, so select all will not include your chapter titles — they remain separate “hero elements” that require manual editing.

Changes to note cards

  • A small change to make note cards easier to read on first use, especially for anyone who uses corrective lenses. The default font size for note-card headers is now 20pt and the default body text is now 14pt. This does not change cards you've already created; it only affects new cards going forward.
